Youth

IT’S Maggie !
In the October edition of the Newsletter the Rector welcomed Maggie Kane to the Parish as an Intern for the year. Here she introduces herself:
Hi Everybody!!
My name is Maggie Kane. I’m 19 and from the great county of Cavan. I’m from a little place called Billis which is situated near Virginia and Ballyjamesduff. I come from a farming background but that doesn’t mean I can farm. I come from a family of five, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
As some of you may already know that the Rector that I have at home is a great guy called Rev Craig McCauley. Craig was in Kill O’ The Grange about 6 years ago but fortunately for us he left Kill for us.

In the last year or so I have got involved within various youth groups that occur within my area such as youth clubs (for kids of primary school age), holiday Bible club, teens club and also the Girls’ Friendly Society (G.F.S.) Also within the last year I have worked in a Spar Shop in Ballyjamesduff at weekends but during the week I was at college doing my FETAC level 5 in Childcare. In the future I hope to finish college and get a B.A. in childcare. Also I would like to be more involved in youth groups and get some clubs up and running in my area.
From being at KOTG I hope to achieve more experience working with young people and get ideas on games and different ways of entertaining them. The most important thing I hope to achieve is to grow closer to God and to learn more about the best book in the world – The Bible. I hope that God will help me in every step that I take on my new journey in life.
I want to take this opportunity to give special thanks to people in KOTG for making me feel so welcome here but especially to the Glenfields, The Silks and Ian Horner who are all a pleasure to walk beside on this journey. Huge thanks to Peter and Sheila (Murphy) who are my parents in Dublin and are great parents at that.
I also want to send my thanks the whole way to Cavan to my family for their support even though the baby of the family was leaving the nest. Also a big thank you to Billis Parish for their support and generosity. My biggest thanks goes to Craig and Vida McCauley. They really are two of the best people I have met. Craig was responsible for all this journey taking place so really I can’t thank him enough. Both Craig and Vida have kept me on the straight and narrow at home in all I do – but even when I am not in sight they are still keeping an eye on me.
KOTG rocks!! Love to all,
Maggie.
