A JOURNEY OF A LIFETIME At the Family Service on 18th October, we were introduced to the team of young people who will be going to India, in partnership with the Leprosy Mission, early in the New Year. MISSIO DEI This Summer, dozens of people from Kill have been involved in Missio Dei (God’s Mission). School’s Out For Summer Summer term ended in Kill National School with a flurry of activity. Sports Day, football finals, project awards, the Sixth Class trip to Wales and farewells to Sixth Class. In addition, a highly successful concert held in the Hall was augmented by a brilliant barbecue run by the PTA on a balmy summer’s evening. PASSING THE BATON The air was full of celebration in April as the 22nd Company of the Girls’ Brigade celebrated their fiftieth birthday. Sandra Chapple, Captain of the Company, stood down after seventeen years of sterling service. The captaincy will pass to Nola Lambert whose service in the company has been exemplary. This year seems to be the year of congratulations - we’ve had the Girls’ Brigade 50th and the Mothers’ Union Coffee Shop. Journeys of Discovery During this month, children in Kill National School will be going on an “Amazing Journey” which brings the Bible story into the classroom. At the mid-term break much of the 5th, and 6th class will be in Ovoca Manor for the Max Pack weekend. Max Pack is a fortnightly club for 5th. And 6th.
