Prayer Ministry
|
Prayer is the channel that develops our relationship with God. We can pray in a huge variety of ways, whether it’s by ourselves or together with others, either in a small group or as part of a church congregation. In Kill we are offering prayer and healing ministry for individual people at the end of our morning services on the 2nd and 3rd Sundays of the month. This is important for a number of reasons:
· When we come to church we have particular needs and these may not be met by the prayers during a service.
· Sometimes we need to hear someone speak on God’s behalf into our lives, reassuring us that we are loved and accepted by God individually.
· When we go through difficult or hard times in our lives, we need to be assured of God’s loving presence with us, to help us get through it and enabling Him to work powerfully to bring healing to our situation.
· It is also a real and specific way in which we live out our calling as Christians to love and support each other in the Church - to be truly ministers to one another, the people of God together.
Our prayer/healing ministry team have all undergone training and meet regularly to support and pray for one another. This is important because it is essential that we are being prayed for if we are to offer to pray for others. The training covers issues such as confidentiality so that those who are prayed for can know what they share stops with the people who pray with them – it goes NO further. It is also important that the praying takes place within the church setting underlining the fact that prayer ministry is a perfectly normal activity within the life of the Church.
We hope to arrange further prayer/healing ministry training in the coming months and if you feel that this is a ministry to which God may be calling you, please get in touch with Ferran or any member of the ministry team.
In addition there is a rota for people who lead the prayers at the Sunday Services. If you would like to be involved in either of these vital ministries please contact Suzette Byrne on readers@kotg.ie |
