SEPTEMBER

Dear Friends,

To be a Christian is to be someone who prays in the name of Jesus. Prayer is not simply a solitary activity; it is also an expression of the community of God’s people.  Prayer is at the heart of the community of faith in Kill in Sunday worship.  People from the congregation lead the weekly intercessions.  In Growing Groups which gather in homes around the Parish, prayer is a central feature of the life of the group. For many years a small group of faithful people under the banner of “Prayer Partners” have prayed on Tuesday evenings on a fortnightly basis.

To be prayerful is essentially to be open to God.  From September, the third Wednesday in each month has been set aside for a central prayer meeting in the Parish Centre.  The meeting will begin at 8.00 p.m. and will last for one hour.  There will be an opportunity for praise, for a short biblical teaching and time to explore the pathway of prayer.  It is open to all, for all may pray silently or audibly.  My prayer is that this prayer meeting may draw us closer to God and to depend on Him more fully.  I hope it will be an “engine room” for the ship that is the church, as we sail in the ocean of God’s love and the fragmented seas of humanity,

Yours sincerely,

Ferran
