DECEMBER

Dear Friends,

The lists lengthen in the run up to Christmas; correct addresses, enough cards and stamps, shopping for gifts and food, arrival and departures. December is so often a frenetic month, when it seems that we don’t have a minute to ourselves. Into all of this, we have the birth of Jesus Christ, who is the reason for the season. Where does Jesus come in our Christmas lists? Can I encourage you to bring Jesus into the heart of our Christmas preparations and celebrations, daily spend some moments in prayer and reflection. The Advent Book Shock and Awe by Ian Coffey is an excellent resource for daily reflection.

During Advent a service of Holy Communion will take place at 10.30 a.m. in the Parish Centre, with seasonal refreshments at the end of the service. Do consider setting aside this time to be with the Lord and each other in the run up to Christmas. Finally there are Christmas services which will be well prepared and welcoming, Kids’ Cards with the Sunday Club, on Sunday 20th December at 10.00 a.m., and later that day Carols by Candlelight at 5.00 p.m. Then on Christmas Eve, Midnight Communion, beginning at 11.30 p.m. and on Christmas Day, Holy Communion and the Christmas Family Service at 10.00 a.m. Can I wish you and yours a very happy and Christfilled Christmas,

Yours sincerely,

Ferran
